Saturday, September 10th

Good evening from the beautiful Northwest,

We checked in last night at a very nice RV resort just off Bainbridge Island in Washington.  This morning we caught the ferry to Seattle and spent the day exploring the city.

Our first stop was the famous Public Market just north of the ferry landing.  The place was packed, but we expected it for a Saturday.  What an eclectic variety of wares, rows and rows of fresh flowers, the best produce ever and markets that sold fish right from the boats.  We picked up some super sweet peaches and apples to take home.  They also have tons of local crafters and street musicians.  We had a great time people watching.
At least he was honest!

Under the Seattle city streets
After lunch overlooking the water, we walked about 10 blocks to take the underground city tour.  This walking tour covered the history of Seattle prior to the great fire of 1889.  After the fire the city was rebuilt on top of itself, entombing everything below.  We went underground under the sidewalks and new buildings to see the “old city”.  It was pretty amazing.

All in all, we had a great day.  As we settled back at our camp, we put our feet up and relaxed with an “adult” ice tea in the cool night air.  We agree that we are truly blessed.

Cheers!

Goodnight all, more to explore tomorrow.
