Chicago

Chicago

After leaving Wisconsin, we headed to Chicago.  We stayed at the RV campground at Great Lakes Naval Base.  Our campsite was beautiful, right on Lake Michigan.

Steve gave me the tour of “his other life” when he was stationed at Great Lakes.  It’s been 11 years since he lived there and things have changed quite a bit.  The base was very regal, big old brick buildings, pomp and circumstance.  It had an east coast college campus feel about it.

We took the train into downtown Chicago on Thursday, October 5th.  We enjoyed lunch before we boarded the train in Lake Forest, IL.  This was our favorite area of Chicago; it has a quaint small town feel, very classy.

Downtown Chicago was out of my comfort level (I'm a small town girl at heart), we finally figured out the transit system and saw some memorable sights.
We did tons of walking and ate at a great little Italian Restaurant, Pisano’s.
